Kristen, an attorney at Sandin Law, joined the team in January of 2013.  Kristen earned her law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.  While in law school, Kristen was named to the Dean’s List and won the CALI Award in Tax II: Taxation of Business Entities.  Prior to law school, Kristen received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in 2008 from Minnesota State University Moorhead, majoring in Paralegal Studies.  While attending law school, Kristen worked for an estate planning and tax attorney as well as a financial planner, where she gained an appreciation for a team approach to estate planning between attorneys, financial planners, accountants, and other advisors.

Kristen practices law with an emphasis in estate planning for individuals and families, including incapacity planning, will planning, revocable trust planning, gift and estate tax planning, charitable planning, special needs planning, and farm and business succession planning, as well as probate and trust administration.  In addition to, and oftentimes in conjunction with, the above-noted areas, Kristen assists clients with premarital or postnuptial agreements, various real estate matters, as well as business entity matters, such as business formation and organization, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, winding up and dissolution, and preparation of or review of various business contracts.

Kristen has been licensed to practice law since 2012 and is license to practice in North Dakota and Minnesota.  She continues expanding her knowledge and expertise through memberships in WealthCounsel, the Red River Valley Estate Planning Council, the State Bar Association of North Dakota, and the Minnesota State Bar Association.

Kristen is focused on making a positive impact on the lives of every client, individual, and family that she serves by providing exceptional customer service and striving to exceed the expectations of everyone that she has the privilege of working with.

Kristen grew up on her family’s grain farm in Hazen-Beulah, North Dakota, where she learned the principle of teamwork and the values of hard work and strong personal relationships with those around her.  In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, baking, reading, and most of all spending time with her husband, Matt, two children, Gavin and Natalie, and their beloved Maltese-Yorkie, Bentley.
